Dog Man

For a change, I decided to read a comic so, I picked up a comic called 'Dog man'. It is written and illustrated by George Beard, and Harold Hutchins (Dav Pilkey,) and its genre is adventure. It was first published in the year 2016 by Scholastic, and it's a little longer than 200 pages.

The main characters in this book are (there are very few characters) Dog man-the protagonist, his police chief, Petey the cat-the antagonist, some other police officers and some other villains that Petey created.

Dav Pilkey is an American author, best known for writing the 'Captain Underpants' and the 'Dog man' series. Pilkey had ADHD and dyslexia and because of his behaviour, his teachers made him sit in the hallway. It was there he created the character Captain Underpants. Captain underpants has also been made as a movie and a TV series.

The plot goes like this - a cop and his dog get injured in a bomb blast. The cop has his head dying, and the dog's body was dying. So the doctors devised a plan to save the best they could from both the injured combined together.. They combined the cop's body and the dog's head, and dog man was born! Dog man caught those who didn't follow the law and liked to sit on his chief's sofa. A cat called Petey tries to wreck his plans by making new inventions but isn't successful even a single time.

This book was not very good. I found it a little inappropriate for my age. I didn't like the spelling errors in it, even though I know why they are there and there were some things which are not even possible, like joining parts of a dog and a man. But I do think that this book is humorous.

I recommend this book for readers of age 7-9. There are a total of nine books in this series as of now, but I haven't any others. If you like this book, you can read 'Dog man unleashed'. A similar book like Dog man is 'The adventures of captain underpants'.

I rate this book 3.9 out of 5.
